Marshall Breeding call for replies to his annual Perceptions Survey of Library Automation (2009)

Marshall Breeding has put out a call for replies to his annual Perceptions (2009) Survey of Library Automation.

This survey is designed to complement, and not replace, the Library Journal  / annual Automation Systems Marketplace whichis published annually in the April edition of Library Journal.

The «Perceptions» survey has the potential of being very valuable for customers and vendors alike, as the analyzed information is collected from libraries rather than from library automation vendors, thus differentiating it from the Library Journal survey. Last year’s results <http://www.librarytechnology.org/perceptions2008.pl> were not quite representative for the customer base of Ex Libris as 82% of the respondents were from libraries in English-speaking countries, the majority of whom were from the United States — a demographic which differs greatly from the very international Ex Libris customer base.

In order to better balance this year’s results and to provide more meaningful data, I would like to alert you to this survey and ask to provide input. Directions and background can be found at the link above.
